After the resignation of coach Duncan Fletcher, England Cricket Board has appointed Peter Moores as the new coach of England cricket team.
Moores is presently the Director of the National cricket academy in England and will start his tenure from May 1 with his first assignment being the test series against visiting West Indies.
It is worth mentioning in this regard that Moores has successfully coached county side Sussex in 2003 after taking over as the Director of the national cricket academy. In addition, he has also coached England A side. Therefore, large chunk of current England players know him pretty well both personally and professionally.
Though, he has not played lots of international matches but is pretty much like the current Australian coach John Buchanan - and knows the art of managing top quality international sides. Likes of Tom Moody, Dav Whatmore and John Bracewell were also interested in coaching the England side but ECB favored Moores because of his brilliant record as coach.
